Where is the best place to get a massage in London?

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Where is the best place to get a massage in London? Well, if you ask our clients then they’ll tell you – City Sports Massage! Whether you’re looking for a deep tissue massage, sports massage or even just a massage then here’s a few reasons you should give us a try!

Dancers say that we’re the best ’sports massage for dancers’ because we’re not afraid to ‘get in there’ deeply. But equally we’re happy to work gently too. Sometimes we see clients whom life has been throwing around a little recently (it happens to *all* of us!) and that would be just one example of when we’d chill things out a little. I recently massaged a new client and they became very emotional during the massage. This happens often as massage can be a real emotional release. She was determined she wanted to work through it, and have a good old fashioned blub! After the therapeutic massage she said that she was pleasantly surprised – as she’d always thought that sports massage had to be brutal and unforgiving. But just like every person is different, every treatment is different. And though we might need pummeling one week, the next week might feel totally different.

It’s difficult to find a good massage therapist in London. The best massage therapist will always be sensitive to the changing requirements of each individual. We don’t do formulaic body rubs here. We listen intuitively, and we respond accordingly.

Sports Massage or Deep Tissue Massage in London?

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

I often get asked in my massage clinic in Central London – what’s the difference between deep tissue massage and sports massage? The answer is; deep tissue massage courses are generally shorter and not as involved as sports massage courses. So someone learning ’sports massage’ techniques to treat sports injuries, or work-related issues such as RSI, will be better equipped than someone who has done a basic ‘deep tissue’ course. In a nutshell, if your therapist is qualified with recognised sports massage qualifications (such as BTEC) then they will be doing deep tissue massage, and more!

City Sports Massage Launch Party Photos now online!

What a party we had last week!

It was, as predicted, a stormin’ success! We went right up to the venue’s 110 capacity! There was a queue waiting even before we opened at 6:30pm, and the first 50 people were through the door before we had time to breathe!

The venue was ‘The Player’, in Soho, London and they clearly knew how to run a smooth bar and kitchen. The delicious, raw-food canapes were made and given out by Sophie of Blissful Health.

All night guests were expressing disbelief that there were people there that they didn’t expect to see. The world suddenly seemed smaller. “I can’t believe you massage my ex-bosses husband’s friend” and so it went on!

The crowd were just *so* amazingly friendly. Everyone commented on this – the venue, the performers and the other guests.

I’ve gotta say a special thank you to all the performers who appeared at this event (you can see the full line up on the previous post) and also to Sean Mooney for his fabulous stage management services, and Dave Chameleon for his cheeky, always spot-on compeering. I felt so lucky to have such generous, talented people willing to work at the City Sports Massage Launch Party!
